Automotive Management Live: Hollywood meets showroom as AI transforms car sales journey

Phyron’s chief innovation officer will guide dealers on how artificial intelligence (AI) technology is rewriting the future of car sales as part of a special session at this year’s Automotive Management Live.

The free one day exhibition and conference show for UK car dealerships is back at the NEC, Birmingham on November 12 and will feature a packed schedule across three seminar theatres.

Jens-Peter Sjöberg, co-founder and chief innovation officer at Phyron, which is also the premium sponsor for Automotive Management Live, will lead a session in the Technology and Innovation Theatre.

From Hollywood to the showroom: AI turns emotions into sales

Sjöberg will explain how cinematic storytelling and human psychology, developed in the film industry, are now being applied to automotive retail through AI.

With a career spanning over three decades, Sjöberg has built a global reputation within the visual effects industry after bringing his expertise to blockbuster films like The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

He believes the future of car retail lies in combining speed with emotion.

Sjöberg said: “The faster you sell a car, the faster you make money,” he said. “But speed alone is not enough.

“Storytelling is what connects customers with vehicles, turning a specification sheet into something they can imagine themselves driving.”

He believes the market is shifting towards richer, more emotionally driven content.

Cars are increasingly being presented with the same story-led approach first used in marketing campaigns, creating a seamless narrative from launch to resale.

The Phyron session will draw on insights from 4,000 dealerships worldwide to show how AI can analyse customer data to create visual storytelling that builds desire, trust and excitement at every stage of the buying journey.

Sjöberg added: “The session will demonstrate how AI can turn browsers into buyers and keep them returning.

“The automotive sector needs to catch up with industries such as fashion and e-commerce that already use emotional triggers and seamless digital experiences to drive customer engagement.”

Automotive Management Live will help dealer group leaders:

  • Hear how they can better protect their business from the threat of cyber criminals
  • Identify their next steps to manage the impact of a motor finance commissions redress scheme on their administration teams
