How Heritage Parts Centre Built a Faster, Smarter eCommerce Experience for 30,000+ Automotive Parts
Heritage Parts Centre had a clear challenge: how to deliver a fast and intuitive online shopping experience across a catalogue of more than 30,000 automotive parts.
The existing eCommerce experience was affected by slow page loading, particularly around the marque and model functionality. At the same time, the size of the product catalogue made navigation complex, making it difficult for customers to quickly identify the parts they needed.
The existing coding framework also limited the ability to introduce custom functionality, while an outdated UI and UX made the shopping experience less intuitive and engaging.
Magneto IT Solutions worked with Heritage Parts Centre to modernise its eCommerce platform using Adobe Commerce Cloud, with a focus on performance, product discovery, scalability and customer experience.
The product catalogue was restructured with clearer categories and indexes, making it easier for customers to navigate the extensive range of automotive parts. The marque and model module was also enhanced with custom URL detection, improving category URLs, navigation flow and SEO.
Performance was a major focus of the project. Magneto streamlined the coding structure and leveraged Adobe Commerce Cloud to deliver a faster browsing experience, resulting in a reported 45% improvement in page-loading speed.
The platform was also integrated with Akeneo to strengthen product information management, helping Heritage Parts Centre manage its extensive product catalogue more efficiently and maintain more consistent product information.
On the checkout side, Adyen was integrated as the payment gateway to provide customers with a secure and flexible payment experience.
The website's UI and UX were redesigned to create a more modern and intuitive interface, helping customers move from vehicle or model discovery through to product selection and checkout with less friction.
The result was a faster, more scalable and customer-friendly automotive eCommerce platform capable of supporting a large and complex product catalogue.
For automotive parts businesses, the Heritage Parts Centre project demonstrates how performance optimisation, structured product data, vehicle-based navigation and commerce technology can work together to create a better digital buying experience.
